Key Dance Information
Our Annual Performing Arts Concert will be held at the 'The Round' in Nunawading on Tuesday 19th November, 2024. Students involved in Dance, Glee and Choir will be performing on this evening.
Due to a large number of students expressing interest in dance at the end of 2023 we will be running several extra dance classes in 2024. The ballet/jazz troupes and tap classes are being capped at a maximum of twenty students to ensure technique can effectively be taught. Preference into these classes will be given to students who have been in the dance program in previous years.
A notice regarding expression of interest for dance classes was provided to all interested students at the end of 2023. Students who returned the form before the end of the year have been allocated a place in a dance class for 2024. Information regarding the dance classes will be sent out to students by their dance teachers. Prep students do not need to complete any forms and will all be invited to attend Prep Dance in Term Two.
All classes are free but costume fees do apply for most dance classes.Students are expected to attend their dance class each week if they wish to be placed in routines and have the opportunity to perform at the end of year Performing Arts Concert. Many groups will also have the chance to perform at other school and community events throughout the year.
If your child did not submit a form at the end of 2023, however, they have since decided they are interested in dance please ask them to speak to Mrs Whiteoak at school on a Monday, Tuesday or Friday. Some classes are now full and some have limited places available.
PrepPrep students can join Prep Dance when it starts in Term Two. The class is open for all Prep students to come along and try. Students will be asked to commit by the end of Term Two if they wish to perform in the end of year Performing Arts concert at the theatre.
