At Burwood Heights Primary School our aim is to build a love and passion for physical education in each and every student. In order to achieve this we create positive and enjoyable experiences in which students have the opportunity to learn and build on their skills, develop self-esteem and confidence in their abilities and develop social competencies and problem solving skills. They also learn the rules and skills needed to participate in a wide range of sports and we foster resilience and appreciation of others achievements.
During each and every lesson students are expected to listen to and follow all instructions, always have a go to the best of their abilities, cooperate and encourage others, play fair and mostly importantly have FUN!!
The Heart Foundation Jump Rope for Heart is about teaching children how to keep fit and healthy. Students learned physical activities like rope-jumping to improve their strength, gaining confidence and stamina to extend their physical abilities elsewhere.
Students who participated in Jump Rope for Heart had lots of fun with their peers. At the same time they learned about saving Australian lives by raising funds to go towards research to help the fight against heart disease and stroke in Australia.
