In October eighteen students headed off to perform at the VPA conference at the Pullman Hotel. In front of hundreds of principals and teachers we danced in a limited space. Twelve students from the Star and Crystal Dance Troupes performed, ‘Heal the World’. Six students from the Diamond Dance Troupe performed, ‘When You Believe’. It was a great experience for all of us.
Last week we went on our ‘Farmer Wants A Cow’ adventure. Our mission was to learn as much as we could about dairy. So what better way to find out than to spend a couple of days on a working dairy farm? John & Rike McCormack own a dairy farm in Gippsland and were generous enough to welcome us into their home and share their life and expertise with us. Everyone had an incredible time experiencing new things and learning new skills.
On Friday 15th May we had our most talented long distance runners participate in the District Cross Country.

Last week a selected squad was assigned to the adventure, ‘Court in Law’. We allegedly committed the crime of having fun while learning about our justice system. Being apprehended at the East Melbourne Police station, we had the opportunity to interview a real police officer. We examined his uniform and the weapons police carried with them while on duty. Backup was called in and we were escorted to the watch-house to be interrogated and locked up in a cell.
Twenty students, from Grades Three to Six, represented our school in the Victorian State Schools Spectacular, on Saturday 12th September, at Hisense Arena.
Real Life Adventures is eggspanding! Last week we ran our first adventure for Grade Fours. We visited a working egg farm and eggsplored how eggs are collected from the chickens and then packaged for delivery to be sold. Some were determined to discover what eggsactly came first, the chicken or the egg? Although we didn’t necessarily answer that question we had an eggcellent time.
Last week a group of students from Grade 5/6 were selected to attend the adventure, ‘Trees Alive’. This was a physical study of ropes, levers, wheels, pulleys and muscles. Despite uncertainty in the public transport system, we headed up to Belgrave via bus and then train.
